  • Bitis nasicornis bites

    Dear All,

We just try to compile an overview on the present knowledge about the envenoming by Bitis nacornis. There is a huge lack of knowledge about the clinical profile of these bites, as they are very rare, an even if occurred these were not published.
I'd like to ask your help in it. If any of you was ever bitten by this species, or knows anyone who was I would much appreciate her/his help. Of course all cases are treated anonymously!!!
In case you have tips (forums, people) where I should also ask about it, that would be a big help as well.

    Thank you in advance.

    Best wishes,
    Laszlo

    Dear Laszlo,

some years ago I kept a single specimen of B. nasicornis for a while – „unfortunately“ I never was bitten.
A friend of mine keeps this species since several years – but also without any accident. I’m so sorry ...

Perhaps you find someone less lucky at the following forums:

Additionally the www.schlangengrube.de might be mentioned. At least I know one guy there, who is keeping those.
If he was ever bitten, or knows one who was is questionable.

      Sincerely
ist scheisse, aber hat sich gebess...ach nee.
