Berlin: E-profil ; UU-schienen in aluminium?

Sorry for not writing in german, but it would be even harder to understand then my english.

I got plenty of glass now and would like to put some terrariums together. The problem is that I want to have "doppeläufiges aluschienen" for the 4mm sliding doors. Several post say I should go to the baumarkt, and I did, they had nothing. Then I also call a couple of other ones, they also don't have any for sale.

Hopefully someone here already knows where I can buy this profile in berlin, must be a special metall store here somewhere?

Any tip would be of great value! If you are into building terrariums yourself I can share some 4mm glas with you as that you for the help.

I know your problem. I also want to buy it in such "baumarkts", but they never had such things.

So try to find it in several online-shops like ENT (http://www.terrarientechnik.de) or in Berlin Aqua Terra Berlin (http://s188616957.e-shop.info/).

May be you can call Aqua Terra Berlin and ask for such things because they don't have it in their online shop.

Falls du das viele Glas gestern bei ebay ersteigert hast, dann wünsche ich ganz viel Glück damit. Das ist welches aus alten DDR-Beständen und sowas lässt sich oft leider nur schwer sauber schneiden und zu schönen Terrarien verarbeiten.

I don´t really know where to get such "doppelläufige aluschienen", but i heard from several person, who built there terrariums by themself
that they had problems by running the glas in that "Aluschienen", because there is always a very noisy and scratchy sound when moving the glas in this Aluschienen.:wall:
Obviously there is the option of running the glas on special rolls in this Aluschienen, but i think it costs a lot.

I read about someone who just bought a U-Profil in a Baumarkt (metall or alu) and fixed some of the "normal" Schienen (from pet-shop) into it.
So it looked like the glas was running in the Aluschienen (I think you prefere those because of optical reasons, don´t you?).

Claire Metz: Bang on target, that the glass I bought. How do you mean that its hard to cut? I used to buy large amount of rather cheap polish glass when I lived in sweden, 4mm was never a problem. Could be old DDR glas is even worse... You have bad experiance from this kind of glas? Please let me know, I'm higly interested to hear more.

smole: The ones made for glass also have a special "kunststoff" sliding things that you put into the bottom, with this in place the glass door moves even better then the whole plastic profiles I see for sale everywhere. Yes, I think alu profile looks a lot better, but also the quality is worth paying a bit extra for.

atreyu: Thank you for 2 good link, I'll write them both and ask. In the mean time I'm thinking of ordering what I need from sweden instead, but it is a big suprice I can't get this in Germany. The last reptile store I visited in Berlin today, never hear or saw such a profile :-(

But there is one site who sells them, I found the link from this forum:
